day five
Today was spent expanding my stock photography portfolio. If you are not familiar with stock it is photos that companies can purchase to use for print or other media for a small fee. I have a portfolio on Dreamstime.com where I sell these types of pictures. They are usually not very interesting and many times I am not sure where or why they are being used. It is an outlet for me to make a little extra money with my pictures and a sort of bone yard for my rejected pictures that I would otherwise delete. Most of the photos are not very interesting from an artistic viewpoint and can be very bland.
I booked an event for New Years Eve at a club this year. I am told there will be a Brett Michaels look-a-like contest so I am pretty sure this event will be down low on the scale of cool. But a gig is a gig sometimes and when it pays it's worth my time. I will, as always, bring my A game and get the customer top notch photos.
Tomorrow, day six of my photographic journey, needs to be way outside of the box and I am stuck in a creative rut. So I will sleep on it and dig in to my very lucid dreaming brain to find a whole new direction for my camera to follow.
